Medical Record Review
The review of medical records submitted to our firm, followed by the composition of a report. The report will be objective and defensible in a court of law. Peer consultations are part of many of our services and will not be avoided when required.
Medical Peer Review
A committee of medical experts or simply one medical expert will examine the work of a peer and determine whether the physician, under review, has met accepted standard{s} of care in rendering medical services or the standard of the insurance carrier.
Brief Medical Summary
An effective approach that offers cost savings, Medical Summary Reviews offer insight regarding diagnosis, treatment, impairment rating, work capacity, any restrictions & limitations, and symptoms.
Drug Utilization Review
Consistent with a Medical Record Reviews, except that the expert will address the drugs prescribed in relations to the injury and/or pain management due to an injury to help manage medication therapy for claimants which may or may not help with cost containment.
Second Injury Fund Review
The Second Injury Fund (SIF), being a dedicated fund for the purpose of reimbursing compensation payments made by employers, or their insurers or adjusters, to certain injured employees, requires special attention to conditions and terms of each fund.
Re-Evaluation by Review or Examination
Re-Evaluation{s} of any injury, especially a complex case or injury, are a natural and valuable extension of a rehabilitation program. It has been well-documented in the literature that patients with serious injury require regular follow-up for maximum health, prevention of complications, and long term management of costs. From an insurance perspective, re-evaluations are important to best insure the durability of the outcomes achieved and the investment made in initial rehabilitation.
Independent Medical Evaluation
Physician, not being the patient's treating Physician, completes a physical evaluation and reviews medical records for the purpose of addressing medical, disability, and/or job-related issues.
Impairment Rating Evaluation
The AMA Guides offer one system for measuring impairment, but these guidelines are not universally accepted and, in fact, are based largely on consensus rather than on scientific evidence. CME has become a trusted firm because it will coordinate with a medical expert who will utilize the guides required within the state of injury and utilize the guides required in each respective state.
Neuropsychological Evaluation
Testing method through which a neuropsychologist can acquire data about a subject’s cognitive, motor, behavioral, language, and executive functioning. Data can provide information leading to the diagnosis of a cognitive deficit, if any, or to confirm a diagnosis, as well as to the localization of organic abnormalities in the central nervous system (CNS). The data can also guide effective treatment methods for the rehabilitation of impaired patients.
Pre-Employment Evaluation
Evaluation to gain data relating to a worker’s physical capacity to enhance the worker’s productivity, but also has been known to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries to workers. The primary ergonomic methods used in industry to reduce the risk of back injuries are pre-employment testing and job redesign or modification.
Disability Prognosis Evaluation
Evaluation of a claimant on long term disability allows for objective findings to allow for opinions related to treatment/medication, treatment recommendations, prognosis, underline diagnosis, current diagnosis, current symptoms, physical capacity, and to give a clear assessment of current clinical status.
Functional Capacity Evaluation
Series of tests utilized to evaluate a person's abilities and limitations, if any, in activities of daily living and those activities related to work. The activities include positions and movements such as, but not limited to; sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, carrying, climbing, kneeling, etc.
